Enjoyed our stay
We had a pleasant stay at the hotel. We found the room size to be comfortable. The table & chairs is a nice touch if you were planning on eating in your room.
The bed was really comfortable. The pillows I struggled with, but that’s a personal preference I guess.
Unfortunately because it’s a grade 2 listed building, we didn’t sleep well at all. The windows are only single panes & so even with the windows closed in the bedroom, there was a constant traffic noise all night. Buses, bin wagons & sirens.
That wouldn’t put us off returning, I’d just make sure to have earplugs if I stayed again.
We also had a little issue with the water in our shower. On the first evening it was great. The first morning it was only like warm. The second evening & second morning were also hit & miss as it didn’t seem to hold its temperature.
The location was perfect for exploring Manchester. Literally 5 minutes walk to Oxford Road station. You’ve all the different areas within a quick walk, so restaurants & bars are all so easy to get too. Location alone we’d happily return for.
One thing that we did pick up on - the reception staff. On arrival we had a nice welcome. But walking through the reception on a morning or throughout the day - we were never greeted with a ‘Good Morning’ or ‘Good Evening’. On check out, we weren’t asked if we’d had a comfortable stay, if everything was okay etc. It’s basic hospitality etiquette that was a shame to be missing.
Despite the little niggles we would return
