The customer services manager who checked us in was exceptionally helpful. The cost of the room was very reasonable for central London. The fact that the hotel has on site parking was a real bonus. The bathroom could do with being updated, but that doesn’t detract from the good value of this hotel.

Most staff were unfriendly especially on reception. Rooms were dated with paint peeling off the ceiling. New policy to charge for leaving luggage on checkout. £2.50 per bag whatever the size - appalling. Never greeted with a hello , check in slow and on check out nothing asked about stay.

The Copthorne Tara was a very nice property. It's a little on the older side but kept up well. The AC was not working and the shower wand had a hole in the hose. I reported the problems to the front desk and they were both fixed by the time I got back from sightseeing. The beds were firm but comfortable with a very warm duvet. Very convenient to The Tube with a 5 minute walk to High Street Kensington station and 15 minute walk to Earl's Court station. Taxis are also parked out front. The hotel can get very busy during the day with tour groups and Thai Airways flight crews coming in and out. My only negative comment about the hotel is the breakfast buffet. The food was good but it's held at The Green Stag, the onsite pub. The venue is not the best for a buffet. It gets crowded with people trying to navigate around each other. Taking my very hot coffee from the coffee machine to my seat was challenging. Go to breakfast early or pack your patience and people-dodging skills! Overall, the hotel was clean, comfortable and a great place to stay. I would stay here again.

We checked in quite late on the day of our stay to be told we had been upgraded to a suite which was a nice surprise! Room was huge and had a bedroom, living room, dining area. Bathroom was nice. Furniture is okd fashioned but I like old style furniture and gives the hotel a different vibe to modern ones. Room was clean, comfortable and curtains were grewt for blocking out light. It is a good location near kensington high street. We had dinner at flat iron which was great. Theres a self service shop in reception which is good. Theres no bar. Our room was on the side of the train line but that didnt bother us. Overall a great stay and I would stay again if i needed that side of london.

Upon arrival to the hotel, you are met with a beautiful entrance/lobby however, that is where the beauty stops. The room was outdated, unclean, with a damp smell and dis functional air conditioning.

The room was in need of a refurb! I chose this hotel because i wanted twin beds for myself & my son! We arrived very late & still the bed was made up as a double. We had to wait for the staff to come along & separate the bed to accommodate my booking. Staff on reception weren’t overly pleasant either. Staff member who cam to do this was courteous. A bit too far out for us really

Nice staff. Initially on phone told me an extra bed was free, I was later charged £50/night for this. The room was much smaller than expected, bathroom light was very dim. The light switch to the room was hanging off the wall with the wires on show. It is a 3star, definitely not a 4star. Also charged for leaving bags. On a positive note the beds were a decent size. Overall expensive for what it is, but good location.
