Had to check out early
We do love this hotel in general as we always visit here but unfortunately we had to check out early as the next room had there tv volume full on and they had fell asleep so we was still awake at 2.30am which we then rang reception to ring them to turn the tv down, but they could not wake them, then sent security who still could not wake them so we checked out and went home to sleep, which wasnt what we expected.
Stay was good however disappointed in the check-in. We travelled from Scotland with a 6 month old baby and did not arrive till 7pm (check-in began at 3pm) when we arrived our room was not ready and we had to wait for it to be cleaned (we had been offered a smaller room with a discount if we came back however we had booked this room specifically to accommodate our baby). Stay was fine other than that but would expect room to be ready 4 hours after check-in starts.
We booked for the 30th December, we checked in late around midnight with our 5 year old and the hotel was empty.
When we got in the room on the first floor, the room was relatively small compared to similar rooms I’ve stayed in with the leonardo group, and with this hotel, the room was old and tired.
Tired carpets, the double bed felt small. The room was absolutely freezing and the aircon continued to blow cold air. As our daughter had fallen asleep from our long day of traveling we layered her up and went to sleep.
The small bed moved and we noticed no one had vacuumed behind the bed, there were old sweets and rubbish.
The receptionist didn’t inform us or give us the option to upgrade our room either.
I should have booked the premier inn.
I’ve stayed in hotels around the world usually 4 and 5 stars but this hotel experience was definitely not a 4star as advertised.
One night; first time in a Leonardo hotel.
Comfy, staff helpful and friendly, quiet.

Lovely spacious room. But the shower was broken, kept leaking from the wall so the floor was constantly wet..
Staff were really friendly and helpful and the breakfast was nice.

Leonardo leeds review
Staff at bar not familiar with products and if they had received any hospitality training, it wasn't demonstrated very well.
Shower was luke warm and the shower curtain was only millimeters longer than the edge of the bath meaning the floor got wet and slippery. Tv was from the ark, appeared to have only a single lift working, so had to wait quite a while each time to use.
Heating was broken, reported in the morning as didn’t get in until 11 pm in the evening
Toilet dropped for an hour after using it
Drain made a noise all the time
Room needs a desperate upgrade
Couldn’t initially find my booking when checking in. Room (113) was really poor..overlooking recycling bins and a brick wall, and felt dingy.
Items missing at breakfast (no toast) and quality of sausage poor.
On a positive the bed was comfy and the hotel is a 10 minute walk from the station.

The hotel rooms are quite run down, for the rate charged £150+ per night.
I wasn’t warm enough, didn’t know how to use the heating in the room, and there were no instructions.
In fairness, I didn’t contact reception, just got on with it.
The staff were all pleasant, polite and helpful in reception and in the dining room.
The breakfast was very good. Plenty of selection and nicely presented.
It was okay for staff and food, but I’d look for a more reasonable financial option in the future.
