You had to check in at the Aztec west hotel, which was fine. I must admit everything would have been fine, but on day 2 the wife failed due to an external fibre issue, but the Aztec staff moved us to a nice room in their hotel for a discount. Very pleasing.

We stayed here over a bank holiday weekend. It was nice and quiet, with pubs, shops, restaurants and takeaways all within a few minutes drive. (Basmati Indian Restaurant was really good). The hotel is a bit like Travellodge or Premier Inn but nicer. We would use it again and recommend it without hesitation

Pleasantly surprised.

For the good price we got, I was expecting less to be honest! Lovely LOVELY room, lovely hotel. The only let down was the guy on check in not being at all welcoming and gave us the sense he didn't want to be there.. We would use the hotel again but take some happy pills for him next time - asking about a taxi into the town was too much like hard work. If your happy not to communicate then definitely recommend this hotel!

Far exceeded our expectations

Pros: Lovely rooms.
Booked here last minute after having to cancel another hotel the previous weekend because of snow. We initially chose based on the rate offered and arranged for five other room bookings to be made at the same time for others in our party. Very relieved when we got there to see how nice it was!

Convenient stopover hotel with nice touches

Pros: The owner has made more effort than the average motorway hotel of this class. It feels smart and cosy rather than "efficient".
Cons: The shower screen didn't fit and there was no information in the room about breakfast (served at a partner hotel if you want more than Starbucks).
Location: Right by the Almondsbury Interchange (M4/M5/A38). Bristol is about a 15 minute drive. Public transport links are limited.
I booked this hotel for a weekend visiting friends in Bristol. It was the best value offering around and although it isn't close to the city centre, its location makes it easy to find and - if you're off again early the next morning - easy to get back on the road too. The staff gave me a friendly welcome at check in. My room was even ready for me when I turned up just before 12. The room itself was clean, spacious and had nice fittings. Considering its location it was remarkably quiet (though I did have a room on the other side of the building to the motorway). Nice extras such as a large comfy chair, a retro fan and a selection of teas and coffees made it that much more enjoyable.
