Very comfortable hotel, with helpful and plentiful staff, in a good location. Claims to be the oldest hotel in Britain, which might explain why no lifts and thus,
several small or modest staircases - both up and down - to get to/from our large and well equipped room. No obvious offer of help with our bags to the room (which might be helpful for some). Never saw a chambermaid but they did a first rate job.
There was a function going on one evening which was a bit noisey until late, and then a few doors slamming.
The room heating is unusual. Although there is a thermostat in the room, which we tried, in fact you have to telephone reception to change the temperature in the room ! Weird.
But overall highly recommended.
